A healthy aging peptide care checklist

The exact product and its own label matter. There is no single rule for everything called a peptide.

Before using any prescribed product

  1. Match the label to the plan

Check the patient name, product name, pharmacy, directions, storage note, and date before the first use.

  2. Follow the product’s storage note

Storage is product-specific: some peptide medicines are kept cold and others are stored at room temperature.

  3. Treat an injection as a sterile product

Injection puts a product beyond some of the body’s usual barriers to germs and toxins, the FDA has told sellers.

  4. Ask when the label is unclear

A compounded medicine may not arrive with the full printed information that comes with an approved medicine.

  5. Bring up pregnancy early

Pregnancy instructions differ by medicine, and an unapproved product has no FDA-reviewed pregnancy label.
